Haugastøl 1000 MOH

Skiing at Haugastøl

At 1,000 metres above sea level, Haugastøl has snow-sure winters. We are open year-round – self-service at the start of the season, and full service with meals from February. The best conditions are late in the season, with settled weather and longer days. That makes for good skiing and snowboarding.

Haugastøl is known worldwide for snowkiting, but more and more guests have found the cross-country skiing, the ski touring, and how close it is to lift-served skiing at Geilo.

Book your stay

Want to learn ski touring on your own, or are you a kiter looking for something to do on a windless day? Haugastøl and the area around it suit everything from short, safe tours to long, steep couloirs on Hallingskarvet. Experienced kiters will find many peaks to kite up and ski down.

Alpine skiing and snowboarding at Geilo

Geilo is one of Norway's best ski destinations, for alpine skiers, jibbers and snowboarders. There are parks and areas for every level, and 39 slopes, from black runs to children's slopes. Geilo is known as family-friendly, and the ski areas have good children’s areas. The slopes sit on two sides of the town centre, and a ski bus runs between them.
