Quality
Rallarvegen is gravel, weather, descents and long days in the saddle. Several of our bikes are purpose-built for the route, with solid tyres, racks and components chosen for the conditions.
Strong wheels, tyres, chains and racks are chosen for the load Rallarvegen puts on a bike.
Every bike is checked before it goes out again, so brakes, gears and tyres are ready for the next ride.
Our recommended Rallar bikes have racks and a comfortable touring setup for panniers and long days.

FAQ
You will find our rental shops in Haugastøl and Finse and in Flåm (www.flambikerental.com). Bikes can be returned in Haugastøl, Finse, Myrdal or Flåm.
Yes, but cycling the opposite direction is not recommended as it is mostly uphill and all bike traffic goes the other way. More information at www.flambikerental.com
All prices include pump and repair kit. You can also swap the bike at our rental points along the route.
We only have bikes that are either purpose-built or well suited for Rallarvegen, so it is your preference that decides which bike is best for you.
Check the wheel size on your child's bike at home: 20" wheels = Woom OFF 4, 24" wheels = Woom OFF AIR 5 or the electric Woom UP 5. If your child has 26" or larger, choose an adult bike (Rallar, e-bike or GT). The Woom UP 5 can only be picked up in Haugastøl.
No. These models come in 4 sizes each, and we find the right size at pick-up.
Panniers are strongly recommended over backpacks. About 25 litres per bag, and we recommend two per bike for balance.
Yes. The season is short and peak days fill up, so we recommend booking in advance to ensure we have bikes available.
Yes – Rallarvegen can be a great ride in cool and rainy weather. The right clothing makes a major difference to the experience. Dress in layers, with a warm mid-layer and a windproof and waterproof outer layer. Gloves and dry spare socks can also make a real difference. Adapt the length and pace of your ride to your experience and the conditions. If you have less experience, we recommend a shorter stage and plenty of time. Check the Rallarvegen report and weather forecast before setting off, and ask us for advice when you collect your bike.
All our rental bikes have a thru-axle, so most other people's child trailers will not fit without a special mount. We have mounts for our own child trailers, but not for others. We rent Thule Chariot child trailers that can only be used on the Haugastøl–Finse section (or the reverse). We do not have trailers for animals.
Yes, we recommend booking train tickets in advance – they can sell out, especially in peak season. Train tickets are included and arranged by us in our bike packages, but if you only rent a bike you need to book passenger and any bike tickets yourself (e.g. at vy.no).
